Listen: Sløtface - Nose

With the collectives latest gritty single comes the news of a forthcoming EP due next month.

Returning last year with a slight lineup change and an infectious, attitude fueled double single release Beta / Come hell or whateverSløtface continue to push into new sonic territories today with the release of their latest anxious pop anthem titled; Nose - a single which comes alongside the news that the group have a forthcoming EP AWAKE / ASLEEP due February 24 via Propeller Recordings / Virgin Music Australia.

With a grounding groove guided by melodic bass lines and light beats, Nose evolves with atmospheric synths and heavy guitars into a grunge-tinged indie-pop song. With a deeply personal narrative that most can relate to, Sløtface figurehead Hayley Shea shares "'Nose' is what I would call a pretty general “Sløtface anxiety” song, a recurring theme I always come back to. Nose is a conversation between me and a loved one where I’m trying to use imagery to describe what anxiety feels like to someone who doesn’t experience it, how even the smallest things can trigger it and send me into a thought spiral that feels impossible to stop. The choruses are then the replies of someone I love reminding me to breathe, a tactic which usually helps me calm my thoughts, when done in the right way, by my partner, family and loved ones."

With an exciting new era for Sløtface already underway, Beta, Come hell or whatever, October's single Happy, and today's track Nose making the tracklist - we can't wait to hear what else is in store on new EP come next month. For now though, be sure to hit play on the collective's latest gritty single Nose below.
